SOCCER STAR

This is my latest project for Use Your Stuff where we were asked to make a project with a sports theme.  Soccer season has started up again in our house.  My daughter eats, sleeps, and breathes soccer.  So for this project, I decided to feature three of my favorite action shots that I took of her at a soccer tournament last Fall.  She was ferocious trying to get the ball from the other team.  She was fun to watch throughout the game.  To pull this project together, I used a variety of papers from Doodlebug Design's "Goal" collection.  I was also inspired by this sketch from my former design team 2 Broke Girls.

TIME FLIES

This is my latest project for Sketches in Thyme using the following sketch.  I was inspired by the circle at the top of the page when I started planning this project.  I kept thinking, "clock..." So I started inventorying my pictures and thought, "graduation..."  My oldest graduated from High School in May and is getting ready to leave for college in tomorrow.  I decided that a graduation themed page would be a perfect subject for a layout with a clock.  To pull this project together, I used a variety of papers from Kaisercraft's "Documented" collection.

MY FAVOURITE

This is my latest project for Let's Scrap using the following sketch.  For this project, I decided to feature pictures of my youngest daughter from her first day in Kindergarten to her first day of Freshman year.  I can't believe how much she has changed; it's one of the reasons I like to make pages like this.  Documenting the changes, to me, is one of the greatest things about scrapbooking.  To pull this project together, I used a variety of papers from Kaisercraft's "Documented" collection along with the line's corresponding embellishments.

AT THE GAME

This is my latest project for Creative Inspiration.  This week, I'm in charge of the Thursday Stash challenge where we pick an item in our crafting stash and use it on our project.  I decided to use my favorite punch in my stash of punches; the banner punch.  I love making banners for projects.  It's a great way to use scraps of paper and add a fun finishing touch to scrapbook projects.  For this layout, I decided to attempt to get into back to school mode (I returned to the classroom last week) by featuring a football themed project.  My daughter LOVES to go to Ohio State football games, so I decided to feature a picture of her and her friend last year at the Horseshoe in Columbus, Ohio watching a game.  I used a variety of papers from Doodlebug Design's "Touchdown Collection" line to give the page a football feel.  I decided to use the April 14 sketch from Creative Inspiration as a blue print since it used a banner below a picture.  To connect my banner together, I put eyelets at the top of each punched out flag and eyelets at each side of where the banner would be connected on the page.  A piece of green baker's twine fished through each banner flag and anchored through the two holes keeps everything secured.

CHILLIN

This is my latest project for Use Your Stuff.  This week's theme was to feature a summertime activity.  I feel the Earth spins faster in the summer.  Literally I blinked, two months passed, and it's time to go back to school.  One thing that my daughter did do quite a bit of in, what feels like, the shortest summer break ever was float around our swimming pool.  She bought all sorts of floaties for the pool this summer but this one has been her favorite.  She loves her flamingo, and it's sturdy enough that she can float around on it and not have to worry about it tipping over.  I went outside one afternoon and found my daughter and her best friend living the teenage dream floating around the pool checking their phones.  I thought they would be the perfect subject matter for a summertime activity layout.  To pull this project together, I used a variety of papers from Michaels's "Recollection" collection.  I was also inspired by the following sketch from my former design team 2 Broke Girls.

LIVE!

This is my Sunday Sketch creation for Creative Inspiration using the following sketch as a guide.  Back in May, my daughter and her high school Media Arts class travelled to New York City to see all the sites and also attend the tapings of several popular television shows in the USA.  One of my daughter's stops was at Live with Kelly & Ryan. They arrived early and got to socialize with Kelly and Ryan for a bit.  As fate would have it at this particular taping, she was sitting RIGHT where the celebrities were entering the stage and got to shake hands with Diane Sawyer and Nicholas Hoult.  She wasn't able to take pictures of this in the studio, but I did pushing pause on my DVR!  I was so excited!  Since this layout called for three pictures, I used three of my favorite pics I was able to take from my TV of her.  Since this was a television themed project, I wanted to give the layout a global, media feel along with some New York City touches.  To pull this project together, I used a variety of Carta Bella's "Passport" collection.

NIAGARA FALLS

This is my latest project for Creative Inspiration using the following sketch.  A few weeks ago, my daughter and husband took a trip to Canada to see Niagara Falls.  They had a great time using their passports for the first time, exploring the area, and riding the Maid of the Mist around the falls.  I thought the sketch was perfect to highlight two of my favorite pictures my husband took of the falls and my daughter getting soaked on the boat.  I used a variety of blue hued papers to create a watery feel for the project along with "Niagara Falls" paper from Reminisce's "Passport" collection.
