POOL BOY & GIRL

This is my latest project for Sketches in Thyme using the following sketch.  I have three more days of work until summer vacation.  And I'm thinking pool NOT school!  So for this project, I decided to feature pictures of my niece and nephew playing in my pool.  While they had fun with the flamingo floating toy, I think my nephew had more fun playing with the water hose.  To pull this project together, I used a variety of papers from Doodlebug Design's "Fun in the Sun" collection.

SOCCER

This is my latest project for Use Your Stuff.  This week's challenge was to use a "found object" on  our project.  For the past month, my daughter has had soccer non-stop.  She likes to keep her hair from falling into her face by using pre-wrap as a headband.  We had just arrived home from a tournament in Columbus, and I noticed that she went to throw the headband into the trash and missed.  I picked up the headband getting ready to toss it, and thought, "This would make an interesting bow..."  As fate would have it, I took some decent action shots during her game.  Long story short, this soccer page, complete with pre-wrap used during the game, was born.  To create this layout, I used a variety of papers from Moxxie's "Soccer Star" collection and soccer balls cut from soccer ball paper from Hobby Lobby's "The Paper Studio."

SHE BLOOMS

This is my latest project for Use Your Stuff Challenge using the following mood board as inspiration.  When I saw the pictures of flowers throughout the mood board, I instantly thought of peonies.  Peonies are my favorite flower.  I love them so much that my husband has planted I don't know how many peony bushes around my yard.  It's one of the greatest things about the end of May in Ohio.  School is letting out, it's my daughter's and mine's birthday, and the peonies are in full bloom.  I took these pictures six years ago when my oldest daughter was in an annual parade through our town which happened to be her birthday.  I was walking back to my car from the parade when I spotted these magnificent blooms.  I decided that pictures of her in the parade along with the peonies were the perfect subject to use for this mood board.  To pull this project together, I used a variety of papers from Bella Blvd's "Illustrated Faith; You are Loved" line.

TODAY SHINE BRIGHT

This is my latest project for Let's Scrap using the following sketch.  Two weeks ago was my daughter's first High School Prom.  I may have taken a few too many pictures...It was a gorgeous night; the only evening of 80 degree weather we've had this Spring.  I know I'm her Mom and biased, but to me she looked stunning.  It's hard to believe just one project ago, I documented her from birth to age 7, and on this project I'm documenting her prom.  So for this project, I decided to feature Prom night ranging from pictures with her date and friends to her getting her hair done for the occasion.  To pull this project together, I used a variety of papers from Simple Stories "Beautiful" collection.

LOVE

This is my latest project for Sketchy Boards Challenge using the following sketch.  I have taken thousands of pictures of my daughter over the years; these three are a few of my all time favorites.  When she was at preschool, every year they would have "Grocery Day" where they would take turns "shopping" and then "cashiering."  My daughter was so excited about this day.  I've been looking for the perfect paper and sketch to use to highlight these pictures.  I thought this month's recipe for Sketchy Boards was perfect to highlight three of my favorite pics of this day.  To pull this together, I found the perfect paper from the Bella Blvd " Illustrated Faith; Fruit of the Spirit" line.
