SUSHI

This is my latest project for Sketches in Thyme using the following sketch.  A few months back, my daughter and I decided to test out a restaurant in our town called Fusion.  For lack of a better description, it's a Japanese Chipotle.  Customers go in and make their own sushi rolls.  We are hooked!  So I decided to commemorate our favorite place to eat on this page using a variety of papers from Photoplay's "Paper Crane" collection.

JUMP

This is my latest project for Use Your Stuff.  This week's challenge is entitled, "Inspired by a Song" therefore create a project that incorporates a song.  As I was going through my stacks of unscrapped pictures, I came across this one of my girls and the neighbor girl jumping into the pool at the start of their summer break.  The Van Halen song, "Jump" started running through my head, and this page was born.  To pull this project together, I used a variety of papers from Authentique's "Summertime" collection along with cardstock stickers from Carta Bella's "Beach Day" collection.  In addition, I was inspired by this sketch from my former design team "2 Broke Girls."

FLY GIRL

This is my latest project for Let's Scrap using the following sketch.  I was inspired by the globe on the sketch and decided to do a travel theme for this page.  During her lifetime, my husband and I have taken our daughter on trains, boats, golf carts, but for this project, I thought it would be fun to document her time spent at the airport as a one, eight, and sixteen year old.  To pull this project together, I used a variety of papers from American Crafts "Star Shine" line along with sticker embellishments from Bella Blvd's Illustrated Faith and "Let's Go" collections.

HAPPY DAY

This is my latest project for Use Your Stuff.  The challenge this week was to use butterflies on our projects.  I decided to feature pictures of my daughters posing with a butterfly statue at a local park.  This page is quite the metaphor; they were tiny little caterpillars when this picture was taken and have since hatched into beautiful, strong butterflies.  (Sorry for the sappy Mom moment...it came to me as I was typing up my blog post).  To pull this project together, I used a variety of papers from Bella Blvd's "Illustrated Faith" collection along with a paper butterfly that I bought from my favorite place to find unique embellishments; the Michael's $1 bin.

FREEDOM

This is my latest project for Let's Scrap using the following sketch.  Since I began this hobby, I have always been a seasonal scrapbooker.  Therefore, with this past weekend being Memorial Day weekend in the USA, I decided to go patriotic for this project.   These are various pictures of my daughters when we took a trip to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, and Mount Vernon in Alexandria, Virginia when they were very small.  They were such good sports checking out battlefields, monuments, and old houses with their history nerd parents.  To pull this project together, I used dot paper from Simple Stories as the background and a variety of patterned papers from Photo Play's "Live Free" collection.

BEAUTY

This is my latest project for Sketchy Boards Challenge using the following sketch.  This has always been one of my favorite pictures of my oldest daughter.  She was posing in a patch of daisies in her Grandma's back yard.  With the clock on the sketch and time marching on quicker than I'd like, I decided to feature this picture for this layout.  To pull this project together, I used a variety of papers from Hobby Lobby's The Paper Studio "Ninth Street" collection since the colors in this line mirrored the colors on the sketch.
