SPEED LIMIT 65

This is my latest project for Use your Stuff Challenge Blog.  The theme for this week's project  was "Road Trips or Vacations."  I decided to go literal and feature a picture of my girls going on a little "road trip" in my cul-de-sac.  They had so much fun pretending they were big girls giving each other rides in their car.  My older daughter LOVED the movie "Twilight" at the time, and after I snapped this pic, she did a 180 in the street and said, "I drive like a Cullen..."  To pull this project together, I used a variety of papers from Bella Blvd's "Let's Go" and "Cute Baby Boy" collections to pull the project together.

ME & MY BEST FRIEND

 This is my latest project for Sketches in Thyme using the following sketch.  For this design, I was inspired by a recent picture I took of my daughter and our dog.  It is very rare anymore that my daughter volunteers to smile for the camera, so I have to take advantage of any window of opportunity I'm given.  We had just returned home from taking my dog on a walk, and they both plopped down in the grass. The light was perfect, the daughter was cooperative; it was a win win situation!  To pull this project together, I used a variety of papers from Echo Park's "Bark" collection.

THE GREAT OUTDOORS

This is my latest project for Let's Scrap using the following sketch.  I decided to dip into my photo archives for this project and feature pictures of my children playing at my cousin's house.  My cousin lives in a cabin on a river.  She has goats, dogs, kittens...You name it, the critter lives there.  When my oldest got out of the car, she asked, "Are we at a petting zoo?"  The girls fished for the first time, and played with kittens the remainder of the time.  It truly was a great day outdoors.  To pull this project together, I used a variety of patterned papers and cardstock stickers from Echo Park's "The Wild Life" collection along with "shiplap" paper from Hobby Lobby's "The Paper Studio" line. 

I LOVE SUMMER

This is my latest project for Use Your Stuff using the following sketch from a former design team I was on called "2 Broke Girls."   The theme for this project was "use warm, summer colors; reds, yellows, and oranges."  I instantly thought of all the pictures I've taken over the years of my girls gardening.  As I was going through my picture stash, this one jumped at me.  My dog was a puppy.  My oldest wasn't afraid of getting dirty.  To me, it screamed "I love summer!"  Once I found my picture, I was surfing around Pinterest for some inspiration, and came across this sketch from 2 Broke Girls.  I loved working with their sketches, and I thought this one would be perfect to showcase the picture I selected.  To pull this project together, I used a variety of patterned papers from the Simple Stories "Summer Days" collection & a sheet of "shiplap" paper from Echo Park's "Jungle Safari" line.

NEVER LET ANYONE DULL YOUR SPARKLE

This is my latest project for The Memory Nest using the following sketch.  For this project, I was inspired by the semi circles on each side of the title.  The half circles reminded me of rainbows.  Once I thought "rainbows," I knew exactly what pictures and papers I wanted to use.  When my daughter was four, she decided to be a unicorn for Halloween.  While some costumes kids wear once, she wore this one over and over.  She LOVED being a unicorn.  (Who wouldn't?)  And she didn't mind me taking pictures of her wagging her unicorn tail.  To pull this project together, I used a variety of papers from Doodlebug's Fairy Tales collection to play up the unicorn/little girl theme of the layout.

GAME TIME

This is my latest project for The Memory Nest using the following sketch.  The circle with the triangle behind it reminded me of a moving ball.  And the past month, every weekend has involved a soccer ball.  So I decided to feature pictures of my daughter at her last soccer tournament of the year for this project.  Her team played an excellent two days of soccer, and were the champions of their age group.  It was a great way to end a fun season of club soccer. While I followed the sketch, I decided to flip it.  In addition, I added to strips of printed paper to add my own touch to this sketch. 

JUNGLE FUN

This is my latest project for Let's Scrap using the following sketch.  We are finally on summer break and I could not be happier!  I do love my job, but trying to cram a year's worth of work into nine months does a number on me.  So in honor of my first layout of the summer, I decided to feature one of my favorite summertime trips to Dataw Island, South Carolina.  My Aunt used to live there, and my girls would have a blast visiting her and all the wildlife in the area.  Technically, the area was more swamp like, but many of the critters living in and around the island would qualify as jungle creatures.  My children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the island looking for alligators, catching blue crabs.  To pull this project together, I used papers from the Echo Park "Jungle Safari" to pull the project together.
