DOCUMENTED

This is my latest project for Use your Stuff.  The theme for this week's challenge was "Bohemian Rhapsody."  When I think of Bohemian, I think of hippies from the 1960's.  And when I think of Hippies, I think of my daughter a few Halloween's ago.  She absolutely LOVED this costume.  She wore the boots around even when it wasn't Halloween.  And let me just say, sometimes it was a sight to behold...And that's exactly what I think of when I think of Bohemian!  To pull this project together, I used a variety of bright and cheerful Bella Blvd papers.

LAND THAT I LOVE

This is my latest project for Sketches in Thyme using the following sketch.  It is almost Memorial Day in the USA, so I decided to do a patriotic page for this design.  This is one of my all time favorite pictures of my family.  We were in Washington DC for the first time, and my daughter was SO excited to see the Lincoln Memorial.  The photo gods shined upon us and somehow, this picture was snapped without the huge crowd of people that were flanking us on all sides.  It truly looks like we were the only ones there visiting Abraham Lincoln (and trust me, we weren't!).  To pull this project together, I used papers from Authentique's "United" line and a touch of jute for my accent bow.

VIKING COUNTRY

This is my latest project for Let's Scrap using the following sketch.  When I saw the Doodlebug "Dragon Tails" paper, I knew I had to have it.  Why?  Because Vikings are our school mascot!  My daughter loves being a Viking.  She loves going to the Viking football games and playing for the Viking Volleyball team.  So for this sketch, I found a few pictures of my daughter with some of her favorite Vikings doing some of her favorite things.  I followed the sketch, however, rather than use triangles as the sketch indicated, I decided to use circles and a "Viking" theme print to accent my pictures.

SPRING FUN

This is my latest project for The Memory Nest using the following design.  I was inspired by the stars on the sketch and decided a picture of my daughter with her favorite American Idol star would be perfect for this layout.  During the last season of American Idol, contestant Alexis Gomez was from the town right next to ours, and my daughter was her biggest fan.  My daughter was glued to every episode of the show and was in tears when Gomez had to go home.  So when we learned that Alexis Gomez was going to do a free concert in our town during the annual Spring Fling festival, my daughter was in the front row of the performance and the first in line to get her autograph afterwards.  To pull this project together, I used a variety of papers from Bella Blvd to highlight my daughter's favorite American Idol music star.

THE MOUND

This is my latest project for Use Your Stuff.  I am the hostess of this week's challenge, & decided that feathers would be a fun theme to use for a project.  I knew exactly what papers I wanted to use for the feather theme; Scrapbook Customs "Tribal" collection.  And I knew exactly what pictures as well...My hometown is the home of one of the largest conical Native American Mounds in the USA.  Not only is this park perfect for getting exercise (it is quite the workout climbing the 108 steps to the top of the Mound), but also was the home of my girls favorite playground when they were smaller.  Some of my favorite pictures that I took of my children when they were tiny were at this park.  To pull this project together, I used a variety of papers from the collection to play up the Native American theme.

HAPPY EASTER

This is my latest project for Let's Scrap using the following sketch.  This past Easter was a beautiful day, and I was able to get a variety of pictures of my favorite egg hunters racing around my parent's back yard.  When I looked at this sketch, I thought that Doodlebug's "Spring Thing's" collection would be perfect to use to highlight my pictures.  The tags are a great size to use a variety of printed papers, but small enough that the patterns don't distract from the subject matter.  Overall, if you have printed paper but are worried about the pictures drowning in the design, this sketch is ideal to showcase your pictures and your papers!

COLORING EGGS

This is my latest project for The Memory Nest using the following sketch.   I decided that pictures of my daughter dying Easter Eggs would be perfect to feature for this project.  She is getting to that age that certain activities seem childish to her.  But much to my pleasure, she still LOVES to color Easter Eggs.  These are some of my favorites from what could be our last hurrah at egg coloring.  To pull this project together, I used a variety of Doodlebug Design papers from the "Spring Things" and the "Bunnyville" collection.
