TAKE A TRIP

This is my latest creation for The Memory Nest using the following sketch.  My daughter got her temporary license at the end of November, and whenever she hears the garage door open, she asks,

"Can I drive?"  Although the thought of her driving on her own scares me to death, overall she is doing a good job figuring out how to navigate the roads.  On Christmas Day, my brother snapped this picture of her getting ready to drive us home. I love how happy she looks; seems like yesterday she was driving her Barbie Jeep around the neighborhood, and now she's driving my Honda!  To pull this project together, I used Photo Play's "Boarding Pass" papers.  And to "drive home" the driving them, I decided to make intersecting roads to highlight the picture. 

SPRING

This is my first project for my new design team "Use Your Stuff" challenge blog.  The theme for this project was "flowers, " and being the seasonal scrapbooker that I am, I decided to "spring" into this project with a spring themed page.  This picture...it warms and breaks my heart simultaneously.  My baby was five in this picture.  She wore dresses, let me do her hair, and happily allowed me to take her picture.  Now she's one month from being sixteen, prefers jeans and leggings, still has incredible hair, but does not allow me to take any pictures of her yet takes a million selfies a day.  As trite as it sounds, I literally blinked and she turned into a vivacious, sassy, fun almost adult.  On the day her Dad took this picture, she was posing in her Grandma's flower beds when the daises decided to bloom.  She was so excited to play with the vintage looking watering can.  She was Daddy's Little Girl and was more than happy to give him a huge smile during this impromptu photo shoot.  To pull this project together, I used a sketch from Bev Code, one of my design team friends and colleagues at Sketches in Thyme.  Her sketches are perfect for the busy scrapbooker; they are easy to translate and fun to design with.  Finally, the papers are from the Paper Studio at Hobby Lobby's "Ninth Street" collection.  For the "flower" element, I used shades of turquoise flowers from the Paper Studio as well.

FAB LIFE

This is my latest project for The Memory Nest using the following sketch.  A few months ago, I bought Authentique's "Fabulous" paper collection.  Originally, I wanted this kit because of the vintage dog paper included in it.  However, when I finally got the set and started going through it, I fell in love with the retro sunglasses paper.  I knew exactly the pictures I wanted to use with it; the "Sharpay" glasses girls.  A few years back for Halloween, my oldest daughter was Sharpay from High School Musical.  She bought the sunglasses to complete her costume, and my youngest would put them on when her sister wasn't looking.  I decided pics of my girls sporting fabulous eye wear would be perfect to use with my favorite paper from the "Fabulous" collection!

1ST CIRCUS

This is my latest project for Let's Scrap using the following sketch.  Last month, my niece and nephew went to the circus for the first time.  My mother, who went with them, kept sending me pictures.  Their faces were pure joy.  They got to ride an elephant, get their faces painted, and watch an entertaining show complete with trapeze artists who could not seem to catch the bar every time they tried to do a stunt.  So when I saw the "1" on the layout, I thought the first time at the circus would be the perfect subject matter for this project.  To pull this project together, I used Carta Bella's "Circus Party" collection.

MEOW

This is my latest creation for Sketches in Thyme using the following sketch.  I was inspired by the blocks featured in the sketch, but decided to do a few twists on the picture and paper placement.  I love these pictures of my oldest daughter at her dance recital.  She was an adorable black cat, & I was able to take a variety of pictures of her modeling her costume.  However, the pictures I liked best were vertical.  So I decided to modify the sketch a touch by turning the pictures a different direction.  I used various blocks of paper from the My Mind's Eye "Meow" Collection to highlight the pictures of my cute little cat. 

LUCKY CHARMS

This is my latest project for Let's Scrap using the following sketch.  Since this project is going live on March 15, I decided to go with a St. Patrick's Day theme for this layout.  My girls have always enjoyed St. Patrick's Day.  The "leprechaun" used to visit them and cause some minor mischief throughout the house.  And they were always willing to pose in cute St. Patrick's Day t-shirts and headbands.  To pull this project together, I used Doodlebug's "Pot O Gold" paper collection. 

KEEP CALM AND IRISH ON

This is my latest project for The Memory Nest using the following sketch.  With St. Patrick's Day around the corner and my propensity to seasonal scrapbook, I decided to go full on Irish for this layout.  My daughter is a die hard Ohio State fan.  Her best friend is a Notre Dame fan through and through.  It's been a fun rivalry for the girls especially when the teams met at the 2016 Fiesta Bowl.  Both girls sported their team colors, & were more than willing to pose for a picture (an odd occurrence anymore)...  To pull this Irish project together, I used products from the Authentique "Emerald" collection.
