CHILD'S PLAY BLOG HOP! A GIRL AND HER DOLL
Hello everyone! This is Stephanie from Child's Play. If you just left Colleen's page, you're in the right place! As you know, Child's Play is doing a shout out to our favorite toys for this blog hop. I was a Barbieaholic growing up. You name it, I owned it....all except the Dream House. So I desperately wanted girls when I grew up to continue my love of all things Barbie. Well....I got something better. Not only did I get 2 little girls to play with, but also a new toy that fulfilled my love of dress up and hair to brush; the American Girl Doll. I hate to admit it, but I'm pretty sure my husband and I could have bought a used car for the amount of money we've spent on American Girl dolls, clothes, accessories, trips to the store.....This picture is of my daughter getting her doll Kaya for Christmas a few years back. I wish she didn't take out Kaya's braids, but she has had a blast playing beauty shop with her brushing her long black hair. They may be pricey, but American Girl has truly been a joy for my children! Once again, thank you for visiting my blog. As a thank you, I have a little "Christmas Cheer" to spread. If you leave a message on my blog, a random winner wil be selected. Your next stop on this blog hop is Adele at dleebug.wordpress.com/ so make sure to check out her wonderful design! Thanks for checking out my blog, and I sure would love it if you started following me! Have a wonderful holiday season and thanks for playing along with Child's Play Challenge!

ReplyDeleteI had a little doll almost like that with a pretty blue dress but it wasn't an American Girl doll back then, although it did come from the USA. I still have her. Thank you for the memory jog! :)

ReplyDeleteMy daughter loved American Girl dolls too. She has a few, with the stuff.

ReplyDeleteI love the colors in this and the overall design too, especially the candy trail! I had boys so never had the joy(?) of experiencing American Girl dolls. Oh well...there have been other toys...
ReplyDeleteI'm so hoping my daughter (3 yo) develops a love of American Girls when she's older. I remember reading those books to my little sister and looking over the catalogs when I was growing up, always wishing for a Kristen doll...
ReplyDeleteI love the colors of your layout and the overall design. The layering of papers behind the photo are great, and everything works to immediately draw your eye to the photo. Love it!

ReplyDeleteI loved American Girls when I was a kid. They were pretty new when I was 10 or so. Only the original 3. I LOVED Kirsten!
ReplyDeleteMy girls have the generic version of the American Girls and my mom has collected and made so many clothes and shoes and accessories for them. They have a whole bin under their bed full. They are also into dollhouses right now! Your LO is precious and I love the colors!
ReplyDeleteA great layout - thanks so much for sharing. I love the more muted Christmas colours you used in the pattern paper; it really pops that awesome photo! (count your blessings she only undid the braids - my sister and I cut all our dolls hair off to the scalp - yikes! my dad stopped buying them and stuck with stuffies)
