USA SOCCER FAN FUN

This is my latest project for The Memory Nest using the following sketch.  I saw the sketch, I immediately thought soccer.  And thankfully I bought myself a new hexagon punch specifically for soccer season because my younger daughter lives, breathes, and sleeps soccer.  She is the USA Women's Soccer Team's biggest fan.  She can tell you all their stats, watches all their games, and loves following the team on social media.  She found the Instagram picture below and decided she wanted to dress up like her favorite players for Halloween.  So that's exactly what she and her best friend did!  Since the girls were USA soccer players, I used an assortment of Doodlebug Patriot Picnic and Parade papers along with Doodlebug's Goal Collection to punch out the hexagon shapes to replicate a soccer ball.

MY FAVORITE PHOTO

This is my latest creation for Let's Scrap using the following sketch.  When I saw all the flowers and birds, I instantly thought of a Spring project.  And lucky for me, scrapbook.com was having a sale on all Spring themed papers when I was brainstorming how to attack this project which of course I had to take advantage of...So it was inevitable that I went full on Easter.  And thankfully, we had an absolutely GLORIOUS Easter this year which meant tons of pictures to choose from for this sketch.  Typically, Easter in March in Ohio means winter coats during egg hunts.  Not this year!  It was a sunny, warm day, & the children had a blast playing with my puppy, going on egg hunts, and riding electric scooters.

HIPPITY HOPPITY EASTER'S ON ITS WAY!

This is my latest design for Sketches in Thyme.  In my true seasonal scrapbook form, I decided to go Easter with my layout for this month.  And in this layout, I am not only documenting my daughter's traditional Easter egg dying session in this page, but also an accomplishment I made as a cook.  I've never exactly been the best hard boiled egg cooker.  I always buy three dozen eggs for Easter egg dying because inevitably a few eggs will break in the hot water during the boiling process.  Not ONE, repeat NOT ONE, egg cracked this year getting hard boiled!  That was a major feat for me given a few years ago, I had no clue what a stove was used for.  (Ok...that's sarcasm...but I neither cooked nor had any idea how to correctly boil an egg).  So this year, my daughter had 36 eggs to color which made her very happy!  I used this year's Doodlebug's "Bunnyville" collection to pull the layout together which made me very happy!

DINOSAUR RAWR

This is my latest double page layout for Let's Scrap. A few weeks back, scrapbook.com was running a killer deal, & I could not resist the Echo Park "Dino Friends" collection.  Why?  Because when my daughter was a toddler, she loved everything "dinosorn."  (That was her word for them).  She watched The Land Before Time movies over and over...She carried around a miniature Vera Bradley purse filled with tiny rubber "dinosorns."  And when she started preschool, the first friend she made was a little boy who she played "dinosorns" with every day.  Our local zoo was having a special animated dinosaur exhibit the summer she turned three, and she was overwhelmed with what she saw.  In all these pictures, she is not smiling because I think she could not believe there were life size "dinosorns" looking at her.  She is now almost fifteen, & her interests have definitely expanded However she was counting down the hours to see Jurassic World last summer and will watch every Jurassic Park marathon on TV.  I think it's safe to say that she is still quite the "dinosorn" lover!

OFFICIALLY CREEPED OUT

This is my latest creation for The Memory Nest, and by the time this blog goes live, all of us Walking Dead fans will likely be in a tailspin. As a result, I decided that in honor of the untimely death of one of our fan favorites, which we know is looming, my layout for this sketch would be Walking Dead related.  Two years ago, my daughter and I went on an amazing tour sponsored by Atlanta Movie Tours of Senoia & Newnan, Georgia; Walking Dead fans know this area as Woodbury and Alexandria.  We have taken Walking Dead tours twice, & both times we have not been disappointed.  This time around, pictured in this layout, our tour guide was "Woodchuck Walker" of Season 2.  (Walking Dead fans, you may remember him as the walker Rick and Daryl had to "explore" to see if he had eaten Sophia...)  He was absolutely hilarious and was willing to "resume" his walker role by pretending to eat my daughter's brains. My paper downfall is anything Halloween.  So I thoroughly enjoyed dipping into my creepy Halloween stash in March to find the perfect Walking  Dead themed paper to accent the pictures of our fun day.

LET'S PLAY BALL

This is my latest design for The Memory Nest.  When I looked at the sketch, I thought of a baseball diamond.  And with Opening Day today for many Major League Baseball teams, I thought baseball would be the perfect theme for this sketch.  My children have been pretty spoiled in the baseball department.  Their uncle is a minor league baseball coach, so when his team comes to town, my girls get amazing tickets to the games.  Needless to say, they look forward to baseball season every year.  (The only time that Dippin Dots and Nachos are considered a decent dinner for them...)  I used Doodlebug's "Home Run" collection to pull this layout together.  And my daughters are counting down the days until baseball season begins in our hometown!

BON VOYAGE

This is my latest creation for Let's Scrap using the following sketch.  I was inspired by the light house in the sketch, and decided to go literal for this layout.  A few years back, our family took a vacation to the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  One of the things my husband loves so much about the Outer Banks are all the lighthouses in the area.  So instead of using a cut out of a lighthouse, I decided to use an actual picture of the Cape Hatteras light house along with different pictures I took of us on the vacation.  I used My Mind's Eye "By the Sea" collection to pull this layout together.  And a happy coincidence...this paper had a map of the Outer Banks on it!
